When life hands you a catheter,
are UTIs on your mind?

Worried about UTIs?

Canadian urologists and nurses recommend using single-use hydrophilic catheters, especially for those with repeated symptomatic UTIs.1,2

But, not all hydrophilic coatings are the same.

All SpeediCath® catheters are pre-lubricated with a unique
hydrophilic coating; making them instantly ready to use.  SpeediCath® catheters with Triple Action Coating Technology™ can reduce friction*, less risk of harming your urethra*, and less worry about UTIs.*

The importance of emptying your bladder
completely every time you catheterize

If the bladder is not emptied completely, it may raise your risk of getting a UTI.

When catheterizing, your urine flow may stop. This can happen even though your bladder is not completely empty.

If urine is left in the bladder after catheterization, bacteria in the urine and bladder may quickly multiply and could eventually cause a UTI.

Repositioning your catheter until the bladder is completely empty is important to help reduce your risk of UTIs.

Inside the UTI bubble

If you use a catheter, you may be vulnerable to urinary tract infections (UTIs). Not only can UTIs be painful and disruptive to your daily routines, but they might be difficult to talk about with loved ones. Sometimes, it may feel like you are in a bubble.
